Unobtrusive status bar menu that monitors mounted disks and ejects them on it own Upon launch, Jettison will place a small icon in your status bar which provides quick access to a small menu that enables you to manually eject all disks, to eject and enable the sleep mode, or to simply put your Mac to sleep. However, the app is also able to perform some of these tasks on its own. To let you know a certain task has been performed successfully or not, Jettison provides audio notifications. For your convenience, the app also allows you to define global hotkeys for frequently used functions. Effortlessly personalize the way in which Jettison handles your external disks Via the Jettison Preferences window you have the possibility to quickly adjust the app’s default behavior: the app can eject the external drives before the system goes to sleep, or if your Mac is restarted or shut down. In addition, you can specify which types of disks are to be automatically handled: hard disks, DVDs and CDs, disk images, network drives, or SD cards. Moreover, you have the option to have the drives remounted upon wake-up, or to reload the driver to remount flash drives (requires the installation of a helper app). Low-key external drives manager that can automatically eject and remount disks Jettison eliminates the need to manually unmount external drives before unplugging them: you can quickly trigger the unmounting procedure, or you can allow the app to handle it on its own by putting the computer to sleep. All in all, Jettison is a great tool to have around if you want to reduce the risk of disk failures due to improper usage. What’s new in Jettison 1.6 March 16th, 2018 Enhancements: Remounting ejected drives works more reliably. Jettison now coordinates between multiple simultaneously logged-in users. Jettison offers AppleScript commands to eject and mount disks and to put the computer to sleep. When Jettison can't eject a disk, the error dialog includes a button in to save diagnostic information to a file so you can report the problem. Eliminated a crash that occurred when the system provided incomplete disk information. Fixed a crash that could occur when checking for open files when a disk refuses to eject.
